Objectives

I. To develop candidates skills and ability in:-
  • Understanding business communication quickly and accurately.
• Dealing with all types of correspondence and other writing coming within the scope of business and administration.
• Listening, reading, speaking and writing, so as to make oneself understand and comprehend what other people may communicate.
• To equip the student with basic arithmetic skills essential to successful banking.
II. To enable candidates understand the basic principles of:
  the organisation - structure and work environment;
staff supervision - from selection to motivation.
  To explore the variation in employers’ practices in applying these principles, particularly within the context of the financial services industry.

THE EXAMINATION

Time Allowed: Three hours

Examination Format:

The paper is divided into three sections, candidates should answer four questions including at least one from each section.

Section A:
consists of three questions on topics of current interest to management and/or the financial services industry.
Section B: consists of two questions on theoretical aspects of management which will relate to the management of any of the following organisations, systems, people or the individual.
Section C: contains three scenario questions in which candidates are asked to reveal your skills in business communication.
