Courses Offered
The Institute generally conducts two major types of short-duration
courses:
Those which aim at enhancing the level of professionalism in banking and finance,
and
Those aiming at enhancing competence at work.

1. Course to enhance
professionalism
At the heart of
the Institute's programmes, is the important function of evolving and implementing sound
monetary policy. This being the case, the Institute has in its programmes, some core
courses which are meant to enhance capacity for evolving and implementing sound macro
economic policies.
Core courses include:
- Open Economy Macroeconomics
- Theory and Practice of Monetary Policy
- Commercial Banking
- Economics of Money and Finance
- International Monetary Economics.
2. Courses Specifically Tailored to Enhance Competency in Work
Performance
We have courses that
have been designed to enhance productivity of the Bank's staff through imparting requisite
working skills and knowledge. There are several such courses:

In order to maximize the
available capacity of the Institute, and to enable members who are willing to advance
themselves academically and professionally in the Mwanza Municipality, the Institute
offers part time/evening courses, including:
- Various Computer courses, and
- Chartered Institute of Bankers (CIB) review courses.
4. Forum for Discussing Financial Issues
The Institute also collaborate with the Tanzania Institute of Bankers in
disseminating and discussing issues relating to obligations, limitations, rules and
regulations governing then financial discipline in the country.
