Bank of Tanzania Training Institute

Organisation

The Bank of Tanzania Training Institute is an integral part of the Bank of Tanzania (as per attached organization chart). Its administrative systems and procedures are as approved by the Board of Directors of the Bank. However, in order to ensure that the Training Institute offers high quality and relevant programmes, its training activities are closely guided by an Advisory Council. This Council, headed by the Deputy Governor, is made up of senior officials from the Bank of Tanzania, Institute of Finance Management (IFM), The Treasury, National Bank of Commerce (NBC 1997), People's Bank of Zanzibar (PBZ), Co-operative and Rural Development Bank (CRDB) and the Institute of Bankers.

The Training Institute is headed by a Principal, whose responsibilities among others, is to oversee all activities of the Institute.

The Institute is comprised of two departments namely:

  1.        Training and Development, and
  2.        Finance and Administration Department.

 

Training & Development Department

This department is headed by the Director of Studies (DOS) and is responsible for the development, design, implementation and review of various training programmes. It also provides a link between the Institute and training wings of other financial institutions, particularly in establishing training needs.

The department has also a Co-ordinator, whose responsibilities  among others are to co-ordinate various programmes, through liaising with sponsors of staff and potential resource persons. The department does also run a library at the Institute.

 

Department of Finance and Administration

This department provides back up services to the training function. It handles all matters pertaining to staff welfare as well as general administration. This department is headed by the Deputy Director Administration and General Services (DDAGS(TI))
